How a simple blog can drive website enquiries

October 2, 2025

I include a blog page on every site I build. And we strongly recommend our clients actually use it. You can see a sample of my own blog page here.

I know the word blog can feel outdated. It makes people think of long hours spent writing formal articles. In reality, a blog is simply a place where you share useful resources for the people you want to attract. It’s not about being a writer. It’s about being helpful.

A blog can be anything: short articles, videos, recipes, training tips, client success stories, or even podcast episodes. Think of it as a content hub, a place your future clients can explore to solve problems and build trust in you.

When it’s done well, a blog is one of the most powerful marketing tools a fitness business can have.

When people search online for answers to their health and fitness questions, they’ll find you, not just a static website, but a library of helpful resources.

Two big benefits for your fitness business

  • You become the go-to expert: When someone thinks about getting fitter, stronger, or healthier, they’ll think of you — because you’ve already been helping them before they even joined.
  • You get found on Google: Blogs are gold for search engines. Every new post is another doorway for people to find you. Someone might search ‘how to start exercising after injury’ and end up on your site. From there, they see more resources, more proof, and a clear path to working with you.

These two forces, authority and visibility, work together to bring people closer to saying yes.

You can also repurpose content. A video for Instagram can become a blog post. A podcast episode can be summarised into key takeaways. An infographic can be embedded with a short caption.

A blog doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. It just has to be helpful and consistent. Share what you know. Answer the questions people are Googling. If you want your fitness website to do more than look good, if you want it to attract, convince, and convert, start with a blog. It’s still one of the smartest marketing moves you can make.
